New engine

I got my k3 running with the green diamond in it. But part of me wants to convert it to a little more modern engine. I want to stick with international and was toying with the idea of putting a v8 in it. I was thinking a 304,345,or392 in it. Has anyone everyone done this in a pickup k1-k3? Also was thinking of doing any auto tranny. I'm going to leave it 2wd but was wondering how it fit thanks for the help jeff

Re: New engine

The 304 is a little skinnier. I put it in a IHC 1938 D30 1.5 ton converted to 1 ton with 1968 iHC axles.
Cleared everything. I think the 345 and 392 will hit the steering box.
I used the IHC style front engine mount and bolted it with motor mount to the front crossmember as if it was always there. Mine had b/w auto trans. It ran great.
