I can also verify that you can pull the engine with the bell housing attached, and that you can do it by yourself. That's how I spent my Friday morning

It helps if you can have the front of the engine higher than the back when it comes up - then you can pull it forward as soon as the rear motor mounts clear the cross-member. Having a leveler on the engine hoist would have made it even easier, but it was still pretty straightforward with just some plain chains.
