Does the hub have to come off to get the drum off?

It might be the issue of swedged lug bolts. You have to use a cutting tool to take off the lip.

If your talking about the rear end on the KB3, and if it looks like the truck pic, it is a full floating axle. Then you don't need to swedge the lugs. You have have to pull the axle first, Nut bearings etc.
