2 speed axle
Got the ks 5 roadworthy, but it is very slow. Don’t have vacuum set up yet to shift rear end into high. Removed vacuum unit. Jacked up rear end. Hooked a rope to the rear end shift lever and had a buddy pull on it while I ran the truck in second and third gears, revving the engine etc. wouldn’t shift. He was pulling pretty hard, and he’s not small. Was able to put the rear in neutral with the truck not running just by bumping the lever with your hand, or back into low, but not high. I’m pulling the lever towards the front of the truck to go to high, which I think is right. Probably been at least fifty years since rear end was in high gear. Something sticking? Suggestions appreciated.
