I just finished rebuilding my 49' KB2; it run greats, however I have found a very slight film of oil on the firewall behind the air intake. Does anyone know what I need to check to start troubleshooting where this oil could be coming from. Is there anyway the engine vent tube is not venting the engine properly?

Thanks

Guy

I think I found it,f the air cleaner clamp was a little loose; I hope that corrects the issue.

I'm curious as to how the air cleaner clamp being loose would cause oil on the firewall?

Maybe the oil-bath air filter is overfilled? If the canister is wobbling about, there is a possibility some oil could escape. I never liked or used the oil-bath filter system. I often use the 1960s SBC air filter canisters. They adapt really well.
