I ran across this in another forum this morning and I thought it might be useful to some of the members looking for fuel tanks:

Re: Gas tank repair

I'll second Wylie's comment. I had my 37 D2 tank done by a shop in Stockton, CA that used the Gas Tank Renu process. It's a franchise operation with locations in the US and Canada. So it depends on the skill of the franchise owner.

Re: Gas tank repair

There are several local shops that repair and or modify fuel tanks. The favorite seems to be

I have about three L&R tanks that need leak repair and two others in need of some attention.
I like to install an 1990 Chevy Van fuel tank between the frame rails, at the back of the L&R trucks. I do not know hos these Chevy tanks will fit a "K".
I use a POLACK fuel switch valve to switch tanks and senders.

I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have
