Re: Bad noise; coincidence?

Dropped the head off today for milling at Custom Automotive Machine Co. in Weymouth, Ma. First time I’ve been there; what an impressive shop. Filling out the work order for a 49 International head he knew it was a Green Diamond engine and proceeded to show me the one he had on a stand that was awaiting custom made rings.

At home I ran a tap through the threads in the block and cleaned it up awaiting the head and gasket. I’m thinking of using a few studs, at least in places where things may need to be removed, so the sealant won’t be disturbed by bolt removal. Speaking of sealants what do the OLD IHC crew suggest ?
