Tire sizes.

When I acquired this KB-2 it had 6:50 X 16 on the rear and 6:00 X 16 on the front.
Can I put 6:50 X 16 all the way around?
Will the 6:50 rub on anything on the front end when turning?
Thanks for the help.

Re: Tire sizes.

Should not rub, but see what others say. If you still have the 6.50's on some rims, just put them on and see. Only a Half inch difference, that is a 1/4 each side of the tire. just my opinion.

Re: Tire sizes.

I have huge tiers on my 47 KB-2 (235/85R16) and they don't rub. The previous owner put them on. I don't like them. They make my speedo wrong and narrower treads on the front would make it steer easier.

Re: Tire sizes.

I do not accept two things posted
1) They make my speedo wrong. This may be so. but the difference is less than 5 mph. The only way you can know for sure is to do the simple calculations.
2) Radial tires almost always steer easier than bias-ply tires. The company I worked for changed to radial tires on 900 of their vehicles many years ago. The drivers reported easier steering.

Re: Tire sizes.

I always put 750 16 or metric equivalent, I have true 750 16 radials on my Panel, Sears sold them, skinny like a bias, but handle like a radial

I have LT225/75 R16s on mine. Speedo is perfect but had to adjust the left steering stop a bit as there was some rubbing. Not a big issue.

Re: Tire sizes.

Thanks for all the great information. I am going to try 6:50 X 16 all the way around.
I am going with original tube type tires... AKA old school.
Going back all original as much as I can.

You could also use the gps on your smart phone. I do this every time I get a different vehicle or change tire sizes.

I would be interested to know where one can get 600-16 or 650-16s at a reasonable price.- Stickman207

Re: Tire sizes.

Summit Racing and they offer free shipping on these tires. Coker Tire also but you pay shipping. I know there are a few others out there also.
