Kick Panel insert?

Me again! Is there supposed to be a small filler panel that goes in this gaping hole in the kick panel? I see a small drilled hole on the lower side in the middle. It must be there for a reason? Does anyone have a picture so I can make something?
Thanks.

Thanks. It just looks unfinished with that big hole. I am going to make something.

Re: Kick Panel insert?

Harvey my R112 originally came with those kick area opening covered with
the same hard cardboard type material as the head liner in brown color,
Were afixed in place as the headliner with brown push in clips.
They were all messed up and I ended up using the covers as templates
and made a couple new out of thin redwood strips shaped to fit just right.
Wood is good :)

You can take a piece of paper or cardboard and cut to fit and use
any material to fix in place like I did , velcro attach ? easy peezy ...

Image
I fastened the wood insert with chrome sheet metal screws and cone washers, as shown in the kick area.
