Original Canister Oil Filter on KB5 Oil liter connections

Well, I took the lines off the original engine five years ago and did not mark the
locations because it was "obvious" Now, with a different block which has different
connection points into that block I am unsure.

I thought the hose from the engine to the filter went to the top of the filter and the line from bottom of the filter was the return line
to the block. However, the only close up picture on the net shows that owner plumbing
it the opposite way

Any opinions which is correct?

I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have

Re: Original Canister Oil Filter on KB5 Oil liter connection

Well that was interesting.. After looking at this picture, my notes, the manual and the four different blocks in storage
I found out what was driving me crazy. It turns out the block that came out of the truck was tapped for a fitting
just about the oil pressure plug which would be the return line. The block currently going in is not tapped
at that point (so is another block also missing that tap) so the previous owner had plumbed the oil filter
from the opposite side of the engine over to the filter. I have pulled the oil from the engine below the maniford
and am returning it below the oil pressure plug. I hope that will work
