Trying to figure out how to take apart the front cab mount. took the nut off what about the rest of the bolt. looks like the other
side is threaded. other end is flush with the other end of bolt ???

I believe the front cab mount is a two piece design. Once you jack and support the cab, you can remove the nut on the outboard side. Remove the two lower mounting bolts and the two halves should come apart. The "bolt" is probably a stud welded to the inside half of the mount. I didn't have to take mine apart so I can't speak from experience but that's how it looks to me. I've seen spring shackles similar in design.

Mount is off Vehicle,I'm trying to separate the top of the mount from the bottom of the mount . taking of the nut leaves the threaded bolt still going thru the unit. not welded, ?????

The bottom body mount to frame is a "L" bracket with the bolt welded to one side. Other bracket is a reverse "L" with a hole and nut for bolt. Then the bar that curls to a circle with rubber inside goes between "L" brackets (sandwiched together) and bolts to body with two free bolts.

I understand how & where it mounts, I took it of a running vehicle. I am holding the mount in my hand. I want to separate the two pc mount thats bolted together. Taking off the nut on the side of the mount still leaves the stud going thru the side of the mount that holds the bushing & the top part of the mount that bolts to the cab. The only reason for the nut on the bolt/rod is because the other end of the rod/shaft must be threaded also the other end of the botton part of the mount. The nut would be to lock the shaft in place ??? How do you remove the Bolt/rod/shaft ??? There must be a reason they didn't use a Reg nut % bolt

You just pry them apart. The bolt is welded in on one side, it's not coming off. Take off the nut and pry the two pieces apart. The bottom of the mount must be rusted together or something they should just fall apart after nut is removed.

I mess up Brain fart & its only 24 days in the new year Bad info on my part. The front is a 3 pc mount. A left & a right side & the top part that the body mounts to. I remember taken it apart before. My 48 KB! is sitting on a dakota chassis with A Chevy 5.7 & the mounts welded in. Thats why they won't come apart. Why did I weld them ?? Set the cab on chassis. Bolted the back on & center the cab
Then went to the front & did the same thing & Welded them worked out great. Wife a good welder had to send her to school though, Great investment.
