I have the engine reinstalled and currently the front end is still off; how can I start the motor without the radiator?

It will run fine for a while without the radiator , how long until it freezes up ? any wagers

Just saying in case your seriously wondering.. I would not run it for very long.. Garden hose with adapter could work never tried it but feasible eh?

I just want to make sure it starts before I reattached the front end!

Pretty sure you can stick a running garden hose in it

Just to do a quick start and idle for a minute or two should not hurt a thing...

if you are going to run it dry, don't run it long, and don't have fan belt on, you don't want the waterpump to run dry,

At a transmission shop I worked at we had an old Ford Torino Push car to push in the dead cars from the lot. It had and engine block in the trunk, then the trunk was filled with cement! No radiator as the front had been damaged, so we put rubber expansion plugs in both the water inlet and outlet and ran the heater hose from the heater to a 30lb refrigerant tank that had two pipe nipples welded on it and back to the waterpump. The block was filled with an antifreeze mixture.
It held over 4 gal of coolant. Once we were useing it to drag a big machine across the shop, and it was run full thottle for about 5 min before it heated up.
