GRD214 engine "clatter"

Yes. That splash system was unique. I think when Chevy came out with the 235 c.I. Six it changed to a pressurized engine. The dirt track race guys used those old splash engines for quite a while. I bought one of those so called stock engines from a guy ; 1937 block, 1938 head , fitted hollow Buick push rods, altered cam and a flywheel that weighed about 9 lbs. needless to say the pre-race inspection was a tad loose. The engine looked entirely stock .

Fun times. Lot more friends into cars back then and we learned enough to be dangerous.
