Drain tubes in windshield body opening

There is a drain tube located at the outermost bottom on each side of the windshield opening on the cab of my 1947 KB-2. They each have a 1”long, 1/4 “ OD metal tube extending behind the dash. I expect that at one time there was a drain hose attached that led out through the firewall. Attaching a drain tube was easy but I don’t see an obvious place in the fire wall for them to pass thru. I can just drill a hole but would prefer figure out where the originals exited. Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

On the bigger trucks there was a corresponding tube already in the firewall, rubber tubing connected the two. I assume the smaller cabs were the same.

I didn’t find a corresponding exit tube in the firewall of the KB-2 but I found what was either the exit holes( or probably firewall pad attachment points) located at the upper right and upper left, exiting near the hood hinges that will dump the drain water at a convenient, not too conspicuous place. Still curious as to what the factory set up was.

Here's a link to an earlier thread on the subject-

Unfortunately, what would be the most helpful part, a picture, is missing.

The IHC COMFO-VISION" cabs suffer rust through in the lower corner of the windshield. The idea of a drain-tube is a good idea for these later cabs to get rid of the water that collects behind the windshield gasket. After rust through, the water drips onto the floor and rusts those floor areas out.

I did this on my L-110 cab recently when I replaced the windshield,

drilled holes and put short section brake line with flare flattened out, I epoxied them in place as paint is done, but they could be braised or soldered in?

put hose from tubes out firewall, works great, water used to pour in on those corners, not a drop anymore,

I'm kind of surprised IHC didn't do an upgrade on these cabs since they ran from 1950 to 56 and later in big trucks

Thanks to all for the info. I will run the individual hoses thru the upper outer corners of the firewall. And thanks for the thread to the older post. I had tried a search earlier but was probably not using a good search title. It is great that you all who have “ been there ,done that” are ready to help us newbies.
