Inside rear view mirror and head liner

I have a '49 KB-3. I'd like to install a rear view mirror so I need advise on where to mount it and what kind to get: dash mount, windshield center strip mount or up by the wiper switch. Also, where can I get a new headliner with mounting clips. Thanks in advance for the advice.

Re: Inside rear view mirror and head liner

My rear view mirror is up near the wiper switch and in the center. I am sure it is original since the bracket fits the center V. The headliner can probably be found on Ebay from a seller called Jackjilli and his store is here http://stores.ebay.com/Class-Tech-Cars?_trksid=p2047675.l2563 I just purchased a headliner for my 1948 KB1 and haven't gotten it yet. It comes with plastic clips but he says he sells metal ones also. Good price.

on one of my scraps of paper I have written for IHC rearview mirror: MAC's part # 11A-17681-SS at $43. I believe that info came from the old site.

I checked it out and it is a nice mirror that may work as a replacement, stainless steel but it is more rectangular and not oval like the original. I appreciate the offer to buy mine but it's looking like I may not find a replacement in chrome or ss, so I will probably have mine chrome plated and install new mirror glass.

Rear view mirror? One more thing to buy. I doubt my 46 came with one.

The part number lists as a 41 - 48 Ford closed car or 48-52 Ford pickup. SS is stainless steel.

I just ordered a painted version and can post some pics once it arrives.

Here's the one in my '48 KB-1. Looks right and original to me, but....
