Torch Carrier

My Dad made this tool from war surplus parts. I understand the drove motor is from a Lancaster Bomber. Dad machined the four wheels to look like locomotive wheels and the unit runs on 4 inch channel. The rheostat changes the speed and the two top switches, when set in different combinations engage a clutch and reverse the drives. Originally it was powered by batteries. Someone installed a transformer.
Most of the steel is salvage because of the post war shortages of materials. The original design carried an oxygen/acetylene cutting torch, and I have tried it with my plasma cutter.
Dad made this in about 1945 or 1946.

Here is a torch holder that I made when there was some rare slack time at work. Some .25" steel rod and some pieces from the junk drawer and viola.
