Wheel Bearing press

Here's a simple bearing press I made to install the bearing races on the rear hubs of my 1936 C-40. It's nothing too complicated, but none of my car sized tools are big enough for these bearings. I already had the threaded rod and the two aluminum cylinders for a different project I'm working on, so all I needed was the round plates that fit into the bearing races. The big threaded rod and the cylinders kept everything nice and square while tightening the nuts. It worked very well.

Re: Wheel Bearing press

Nice job! It's always satisfying to design and build a tool that works well.

Re: Wheel Bearing press

Thanks, and yup, it's nice when things work as expected. It's a real pain to go through making something and then be disappointed with the results.
