Re: C35 'pickup'

CB, when I got my rocker arms from B3ihc1933, he mentioned Tom Underwood in KS. Tom was able to put a set of pistons/sleeves together. Came complete with rings, pins, o-rings!
A couple of different manufactures, but they're all 3-1/2". Stock was 3-7/16", so I'll have a bigger motor!

Thanks again Kevin!
This is my last old truck, unless I find another one.

Re: C35 'pickup'

Starting to assemble the cab, I've got a few sub-frame pieces tacked together. Need some new hinge pins before I finalize the door gaps. Once I get the door posts in I'll start on the metal door conversion. Making slow progress due to working on the MKVII, getting it ready for a 'show and shine' on New Years Day.

Merry Christmas to all!

Just great, Mike! I agree with everything! :)
You are "bare metal boy".
That C-35 frame and cab look unbelievably good.
Keep sending pictures! You are an inspiration!

I had to post one of my "field ready" C 30 pictures. Your C-35 is so nice it's hard to believe my toasted
C-30 is essentially the same truck. :) funny!

Re: C35 'pickup'

You're right Don, I do love bare metal. The '35 steel is in great shape, very little rusted out, only some pin holes in the back where the wood rotted out, and a little in the windshield frame. It will get paint eventually - meanwhile it's nice being in arid Idaho, hardly any flash rust. Humidity is high when it gets over 25%!

Your C30 doesn't look much different than mine, just needs a good bath in citric acid!

Took this a couple of hours ago, gonna have a white Christmas!

Hey, Mike!
Saw this on PINTEREST while I was looking for quilting ideas. :)

I've never seen such an animal. And I BUY pre-WWII era National Guard yearbooks just for these kinds of pictures.

Re: C35 'pickup'

Thanks Don, that's truly awesome. Those are really the rear fenders I need.

Re: C35 'pickup'

I collect these kinds of parts when I see them. "Matching" dual tire rear fenders to the front is a dream. I could probably come up with old school bus rear INNER FENDERS. I have some of those.

Re: C35 'pickup'

Been getting little things done. Installed new king pin bushings and starting on leaf springs. I purchased new bushings from asbbearings.com. 3 days after ordering on line, I had ALL required suspension bushings for my C35. American made, only $45 which included shipping!

It's a little hard to see, but my front springs are from 2 different trucks. I mixed and matched leaves in order to get 2 springs with similar 'rates'. Zoom in and you can see alternate leaves with different thicknesses. I'll wait until final assembly to determine if I need to add or subtract leaves, then I'll finish the clamps.

Another "big pickup" photo. All military. Just before WWII.
