Re: 1926 S-26 IHC Custom

Thanks guys, I'm, trying to do my best and bring this truck back to show room condition.

I rebuilt the air pump that's driven by the transmission, simple design but lots of parts. I hade to take \my brain down to slow mow when I was reinstalling the piston rings. There's two sets of 3 and there thin, hard to move them around to offset the splits.

Hope I'm not posting too many pictures, I have been taking pictures as I tear down to guide me when I'm reinstalling all the parts.

Do you work at Algonquin College? Nice shop.

The pto-driven air compressor is very cool. I've never seen one before.
The "CG&P" steering box brand is also unknown to me. An educational day!
Thanks for the pictures.
Honestly, you couldn't post enough pictures.

Re: 1926 S-26 IHC Custom

I have that air pump on all three of my trucks, its listed as an option when purchased. The pump works on two of my trucks, I haven't tried the third one.

I'm thinking of converting the truck to a 12 volt system or get the front pulley on the motor changed to a double to add a 6 volt alternator.

Any thoughts on this?

Re: 1926 S-26 IHC Custom

Found this little switch under the brake pedal on the wreck I tore apart (1920 truck). It cleaned up with vinegar and it was still like new inside when I opened it up. Lubed it up and I think I will use it for the brake switch on my truck.

Cut out new gaskets for the rear end, difficult to find material large enough for the parts. I found a large piece of cork in the old wreck I bought and am able to get quite a few gaskets from it.

Nikki, yes, I'm in love.

Now I gotta have a pto-driven air compressor!
