I run my truck infrequently and it always needs priming to get it started. Does anyone know a simple way to prevent the fuel draining back to the tank? TIA.

The problem is more likely the gas we have today. It is formulated for closed, pressurized systems, and to vaporize quickly. The gas just turns to vapor when sitting in these old "open" systems..
My truck will hold a "prime" for about 5-7 days, after that it needs a longer crank or a shot down the carb.
A priming pump is about the only answer, but if you use it infrequently, just prime it when you want to start.
