Coach work dimensions:

I’m starting construction the wooden coach work for my truck. I’m missing all of the steel irons and woodwork aft of the transmission. If anyone has examples in their collection, could you post some dimensions here?

I’m looking for the height of the corner iron and the width of the seat (outside width from corner to corner). Width would be the same as the entire box.

I have the detailed photos from the Indianapolis truck (not mine; shown attached) but no solid dimensions.

Making some progress on the woodwork. It’s a challenge deciding dimensions with no original examples nearby. I’m thankful for postings online and information shared by other owners.

The model F is quite a long truck in my opinion. 128” wheelbase and a nine foot cargo bed. This puts the total length around 17 feet nose to tail. Just for fun, I’m thinking about milling my own lumber for the sideboards. I’m lacking any original irons for the cargo box as well. I might do some blacksmithing when the time comes. Just sharing some thoughts.

I was ecstatic after finding my “original to this truck” cowl lamps and tail lamp. They were tucked away separately from the truck in the storage building. My great grandfather scratched his name on the tail lamp. I wonder if theft was a problem all those years ago. I’m missing the bracket for the right cowl lamp (part number 1473E). Anyone have an extra to sell?

Saw your video on YouTube, really nice sounding truck. You have clearly put a lot of hard work into the project. Looking forward to your future posts.

Most of the remaining work is coach work. However, it’s very time consuming since I have no original box or cab parts. I’ll fabricate with steel and wood as necessary. FB friends have been generous getting dimensions for me.

Wheels are still out being rebuilt. I might have them by May or June.

I’m taking it slow now and enjoying the work.
