Hi,
Am i able to use the rearend out of an early 50s L110 in my 54 R110, and the heater was taken out of my truck. I have one that looks like it will fit, was there controls on it or just a flap door on the core.
My truck was converted to 12v, and had overheating issues when I purchased it, which i think are solved now, but the gauge goes to overheat, do I have to change the bimetal in the back? or the sending unit?.
appreciative of any information.

1. The L-110 and R-110 used the same identical rear ends.

2. The "standard" heater [NOT connected to the cowl vent] was a hammered gray finish like the L-series dash with a heat "door" on the front and defroster connector on the left rear. It looked like this one [but with the IH knob labeled HEATER] :

It used a 2-speed switch like this one:

Cornbinder89 probably knows more about those old King-Seely gauges and senders than anyone else I can name, so I'll defer to him on that question.

If it is a 6 lug drum, do not get it, all but impossible to find replacements, though there is one fellow who might reline them, but not cheap. if you went to that heavy an axle, in my view, you might as well look to go both axles from something newer that will fit, and go for the 4x4 look. Just my thoughts, others may have better information.

it is a 6 bolt, thanks
I have to fix the rear axle seal, and I think I have to take the driveshaft off to do it, anyways thanks for the good advice,

No, the 130 series has a significantly different axle- it won't fit.

Edit- I see that this question was already answered while I was away from the computer.
