Spent Monday through Wednesday pulling the 2wd ZF to put the 4wd in. Had the 2wd out in 30mins. I was kind proud of that. But putting the 4wd in wasn't that easy. While I was in there I checked my rear main for a leaks. And it was dry as a bone. But the oil pan gasket is where my mysterious leak is coming from. Good thing I have one for it. Just waiting for the oil change to do it.
Any ways I had the new five speed bolted on the bell housing pretty quick and the cross member installed. But I had to alter my cross member for The front driveshaft off transfer case to clear. That was the easy part. But after bolted the t case in I incountered a problem. The factory cross member under the rear of the cab was right in the way. Seeing no other way to get around it, I reluctantly removed it. Now I have tons of room. Hoping my old Carrier bearing bracket would be able to replace the original cross member was wishful thinking. So I decided to make a new one later. I spent Tuesday tracking down a slip yoke for a 1356 t case. Now that I had that, I took my f250 driveshaft and shorten it two the proper length and put new u joints in. Also with the t case I can use my original speedo again!! Expect I need a new gear because it's five mph over. But anyways I took some 2x2 box tube and some flat iron and made a new cross member and placed about 8 inches back from stock useing holes that were already there! Also cutting the hole for the t case shifter hurt me more than the truck. Lol But it had to be done. The new five speed shifts so much better! I think it was rebuilt very recent. But now I have clutch master cylinder issues, went to pull out of the church parking lot and I lost all pedal pressure. So I floated the gears all the way home. I guess I'll mess with it tomorrow.

Here are a few pictures of the custom crossmember transfer case mount I made for our L110 Shorty. I think the pictures are self explanatory, so I will not add some BS. Ther is lots of clearance for the front driveshaft, on the left and lots of exhaust clearance on the right.

That's pretty much I did for a transmission mount. Your transfer case looks alot smaller than mine. The cross member right above your T-Case is what I had to wack out.

As I approach Ten thousand miles on the swap i changed the oil for the second time. This time i dropped the pan to do the pan gasket, as it was leaking. Would believe what i found in the pan... ROCKS!!. Good thing i dropped pan. Nothing looked harmed so i cleaned everything up and reassembled. Anyways, the Saturday before last (my 19th birthday), Dad and Me hit thee junk yard and pulled a Dana 30 from a jeep. I know ewww, a jeep, Im desperate for an axle. It is probably the cleanest Dana 30 in North America. I started Monday wacking off the rotten coil spring perches, as i am going to adapt it to the original International leaf packs. Now the challenging part of this swap i think will be the power steering box i have. Its a Ford F250 box, which mounts inside the frame. Im going to try and squeeze it into the original IH location. This will be great because i can keep my battery in the same spot. (right above the steering box) Thats all i have for now, ill keep y'all updated.

Got to wonder where the rocks came from?

I started out with a Jeep Grand Wagoneer Dana44 axle set. I found these axles to be too narrow and there are clearance issues. I bought 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 Dana 44 axles for the extra width. The Jeep Dana 44 was workable in the front because of the frame narrowing. The rear clearance to the frame was just OK, but when the box was mounted tires hit the box. I thought our clearance could pose a problem, so I bought wider axles.
My Grand Wagoneer Dana 44 axles are for sale soon
After looking at your transfercase and the transfercase I bought, I think both units are New Venture Gear 241. The T'case I bought is a 241C. The "C" says the input drive splines are Chevrolet/GM and match the TH475 automatic splines.
While these engine swaps are not "rocket science" a modification like this can give a small appreciation for what an engineering team must include in a design change. Our closest contact point is where the starter comes close to the frame. Our frame will get the Crescent Adjustable Wrench" treatment. I will roll the edge of the frame up just a little.

I would love to have bought a Waggy Dana 44 but around here if you can find them they're 800-1k. We can thank the Jeep guys for that. How did the Dana 44 rear be to narrow? My Ford 8.8 is the same width and it clears just fine. But when i put new rims and tires on I will probably have to do wheel spacers. My T'Case is a Borg Warner 1356 shift on the fly, from a f250 and was what came with the five speed. It is much larger than the New Venture Gear 241.
