Hi Friends. Just wanted to share an album documenting the 2 year journey of my R120, thus far..
It contains photos depicting the condition of the truck upon initial purchase- as well as my efforts to preserve
and restore (as necessary) the original interior and exterior- while highlighting the unexpected detour of it's SBC Conversion
(my solution to a catastrophic engine failure). Hope you enjoy the progress in photos.
Paul.

It appears that you have it back on the road. How is she running?

Thanks for your interest, Jason; but,the truck is Not quite there yet.
The steering was binding up; and, the brake system was having
distribution problems. As far as the steering goes, some new parts for the steering system, with
U joints that allow it to function- hopefully, will do the trick. The brake force distribution issue should
be solved by valves. Other than that, all is essentially done- even down to the exhaust. I can't wait to
have the opportunity to enjoy driving it- also, from a practical stand point-I'm looking
forward to picking up my next batch of hay with it; I'm getting sick of receiving tired, sun-depleted hay,
with the delivery service.
As soon as I'm on the road, I'll be thrilled to post up some photos- and maybe even a video.
Can't wait to share that moment with you all.

Thanks you guys. Can't wait.
And Brad-
steering angle was pretty steep;
hopefully, it will be rectified when it's reconfigured.

I’ve resisted saying anything for a few days thinking someone else would bring it up, but since the steep steering angle has been mentioned, I’ll stick my neck out and comment on what seems wrong to me causing the binding. Counting the u-joints from the firewall down to the steering box, there are six segments total. One and two at the firewall and five and six at the steering box. To prevent binding, I have alway thought, the u-joints needed to be phased properly. While sets one/two are phased correctly with set 3/4, set 3/4 is not phased correctly with set 5/6. Proper phasing means the pin bosses of one end of a shaft need to line up with the pin bosses of the other end of a shaft. You would need to rotate set 5/6 90 degrees to achieve proper phase as I understand it. You may wish to to do some web searching to confirm this. One source would be Borgeson (www.borgeson.com). There should be some information there about u-joint phasing to prevent binding and acceptable angles for them as well.
I like your truck and want to see you having great joy and happiness driving it. It’s all in the details.

Wes-
Thank you! I really appreciate your willingness to express the specific issues, regarding the flaws in the
steering set up, as well as providing me with a link, so I can understand it The guy (a friend of mine)
who's building the truck for me, is in the midst of correcting the problem. He didn't mention achieving -"proper phase"
or anything about rotating set 5/6 90 degrees to achieve this (he doesn't talk like that); but, he did say the angles at or near the
steering box were causing the problem. Thanks again.
