Craigslist deal of the day. 4 Corbeau seats, 2 4-point harness, and the console for $400. Plus $20 for my buddy to pick them up for me since I was on call all weekend.

Image

Now the choice, Forza (fixed back) or CR1 (reclining)? I'm pretty sure they have the same mounting points so I'll try them both out once I get this on the road and see which I like better.

Just sitting in them I seem to fit better in the Forzas. The kidney bolsters on the CR1s are pretty tight on me. These seats do have steel frames so I may be able to take the covers off and open them up a bit more. The reclining would probably be better in terms of usability since I would be able to easily get behind the seats for whatever is back there.

Whichever set I end up selling will probably get most, if not all of my money back :D A new pair of the Forzas is $475 and the CR1's are $800. Plus a couple bucks for the harnesses.

New latches arrived. The big ones and plates are for the doors, the mini ones are for another project.

Image

I flattened this area so I would have plenty of room on the inside between the latch and window track. I then had to move the latch outward on the door as the B-pillar is a bit narrow and I couldn't get the pin far enough inboard on it. No biggie.

The new pin in place.

I didn't like it having all those washers on there so I and bumped the sheet metal out a bit.

Inside with the door closed

Perfect fit. Pulling/pushing down on that lever unlatches the door.

It's funny, the latches look almost identical to 9670 door latches, I think some Freightliners use similar latches with the trip arm on the latch like yours are. Even the bolt pattern (screw pattern) looks the same.
I can't remember what I paid for the last set, on the 9670 it is lock portion (the assembly that trips the latch) that so famously goes bad. I had had new ones act up in a month of use. I haven't come up with a sure fire fix for it. The latches, on the other hand are very long lasting, After 35 years of hard use, I had to replace one in my 9670, if yours are anywhere near as good, should last a lifetime in a truck that isn't run OTR.

Haven't been doing anything on this lately. I unfortunately lost my father not long ago (he was only 54) and I've just had so much bs to deal with I haven't been in a position to work on this. I am finally getting back on top of things and had some free time this weekend to do a little work.

I had the front end loosely bolted on and it would shift around every time I looked at it, so I decided to tackle that. Core support mount. Speed holes and dimple dies to make it look cool 8-)

Bent up a new front crossmember to attach it to. The oem dakota bolted in deal will go away once I weld this in permanent.

Looking good! Sorry to hear about your Dad. Not easy to lose a Parent, especially so Young.

Well done on the cross member and mount. I too share sentiments for your dad. Totally sucks to lose parents.

Wow, that Line Setting Ticket is a rare find! So many of them succumb to mice or water.
