This may seem like a silly question:
How do I replace a windshield wiper motor knob; and, keep it firmly attached, once it's been removed ?
I didn't remove it myself; but, now, in trying to re-attach; it seems quite loose. When I pull on it, it just comes off.
I know I'm missing a step. I've included a photo of the knob, hoping it helps.
Thanks in advance.

I suspect that in removing it, someone bent or broke the spring inside the knob. Otherwise, while they can be a pain in the a$$ to get off, they just push on and stay. I'd look for another knob.

So- The inside of the knob contains a spring?
I guess that's the problem.
Thanks Paul

Can't seem to find the original owner of this photo , hopefully he or she will chime in and take credit
as it is most helpful and appreciated.

Steve-
That's just what I needed! Thanks so much! I just bought an original knob from RJ; and,
It perfectly matches the original.. Until now, I just couldn't figure out how it works.
Awesome.
