Leaking oil filter

The oil filter canister is leaking .The oil filer canister bolts in from the bottom and the oil filter has a new rubber seal but it has a leak around the top where the canister fits against the seal. We have cleaned the seal groove and replaced the seal. There is no damage to the top of the can .This is on the 1956 S100 SD .Is there a after market replacement that will bolt up to the engine.

Re: Leaking oil filter

If that seal is like the can filters on the old sv engines, give the seal a quarter turn when you put it into the housing. The seal on the sv was a tick wider one way than the other and also giving it that quarter turn held it in the housing better.
