Re: 1957 S100 Build

Painted the cab and doors this week. Here is the cab remounted on the frame. Paint is a black pearl metallic 2 stage. Sanded with 1000, 1500 and 2000 grit. Already hit with 3M rubbing compound. Still needs a final polish finish. I painted the interior with semi gloss por15. I threw in a picture of the clutch slave which I was able to take when the cab was off. Next is wiring harness, interior and getting it running.

Re: 1957 S100 Build

Wow, that is some amazing work. Looks great. I was impressed at how nice the tranny looked as I am working on my T9, no where near as good looking. I was wounding though, do you know how thick the the brake pad lining is on your parking brake? I'm about to send mine to the clutch shop for re-lining but have no idea how thick it should be. I've been looking around for specs but haven't found anything.

thanks

I can measure it for you this weekend if you like. I used Palmer Spring in Providence Rhode Island to reface it. Not close to you but they may have the specs also.

Got the interior fairly complete. Also finished all the dash and engine wiring so I am hoping to start it in the next week or so.

Very nice finish work and I like the instrumentation. The skull is a matter of personal preference and I say yes, anything which makes my teenage son approves of must be cool.

Thanks for the comments. My daughter got me the shifter handle as it matches a couple of my tattoos.

Got the drivers door mounted up. Looks good with the drip rails and door handle shaved. Got the air ride final wiring done, rear brakes all plumbed and conversion driveshaft installed. Working on the front clip body work now.
