I have had the old truck out fishing yellowstone area the past couple of days
been talking to mechanics here in Idaho falls as well as local truck guys in the yellowstone area
8k dose seem a bit low I am told. I am going to hold off selling for now a couple locals say they are interested but it could be they are just blowing smoke , but sure has me thinking - dreaming :)

For sure the green color seems to be liked everywhere I go . It so much fun having grandmas
wanting to take a photo with the rig .. My mother-in law and I got stopped twice today
for photos..
One fellow that stopped us remembered seeing it featured in vintage truck magazine way back in 2003,
back then my son and I were out fishing and were stopped by one of the magazine field editors, Al Morz,
he wrote an article and took some photos of my boy and I. It was pretty darn cool just by chance too.

When I had it in california we got the same treatment being stopped for photo opts, seems even more so here in Idaho.
but most of you know how folks react to our old binders -:)

and thanks all for the compliments..

Interesting side note about the wood I used for the truck bed:
Its green washed tong and grove apitong hardwood , use extensively in the industry for truck trailer beds.
it was quite expensive as I recall. $ 400+, but worth it in for its appearance and ruggdness.
Its supported under with uni-struct spacers and fastened on the existing metal bed with recessed 3/8 brass ship bolts , locks and nuts drilled through and attached to the under bed ribbing.

I also used it for the bed stakes supporting the crown and on the tailgate. The stuff is a very dense grain
and harder than oak planking.

Somebody said this. Much of the wood was milled from a redwood community water tank demolished in 2001.
I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have

Yes thank you for mentioning that , that somebody was me, and much is. ,

The darker lumber is that water tank redwood I spoke of, the apitong
is the lighter colored and the "Harvey Green" bed floor , all assembled with brass fittings.
Me truly fortunate to make it to my old age and now as a seasoned wood worker I made
sure that fit and finish is done right and it is one of a kind in mortising design fits.
The crown corner connections at cab have had wood hobbists take notes.
It was one of the truck details that those fun hours were spent on design.
My dad always said "make your mistakes on paper 1st, it saves on materials"..
I have spent quite a few fun hours doing all the mill work prior to final assembly.

No question, It wont be easy for me to sell this truck when the time comes but,
I won't get wrapped up thinking of all the time and dollars put into it,
as it is was time well spent and the memories of building the truck with my son,
and sharing the truck through years of community and
River of Thanks to our military events , that is what counts,
and that makes it priceless for me...
I most certainty got more than my monies worth!

Thanks again for the clarification needed.

I will say again, it is a beautiful truck. If I had the money(sale of my property) I would buy it.

and Thanks again very much for the compliments on the truck.
Allow me to conclude this thread with the rest of the story:

The truck build was inspired by many of my life's journeys ,
but one path in particular was a project Molcsan Electric
did for the USAF in 2001.
It was a mobile radio site build at Beal AFB in Marysville Ca.
All to Military Specifications. - Top Shelf

Inspired on site by the fine men and women of the USAF , I coined a phrase; River of Thanks , once our project was complete at the base, I felt a need to have some White Glove ~ River of Thanks ~ troop presentations using the Truck at various events, notes of appreciation from the public were included and delivered as well directly, to our troops. This went on through 2006'

The truck became known as Harvey - a civilian follow-me truck coined after the real AFB follow-me trucks at all air bases around the world providing safe harbor for our troops and planes.
( Some friends were truly upset about me moving and keeping truck Harvey in Idaho in 2014'.
It was nice to hear of the special Christmas it made for them especially the elder
folks during our city tree lightings. - fun stuff )
.

All along the way I was making constant improvements to the rig , mechanically as well as in appearance. I made sure that it would meet mil spec, -( to my minds eye if nobody else )
It was that important to me to get everything right on the truck. - Top Shelf

Be safe , with a River of Thanks to our troops. SM

For me that would be driving the old truck, fishing and woodwork.
