Thanks! I was looking on Rock Auto for a water pump. They have an A-1 CARDONE reman Part # 598505 that is $56.89 plus $30 core charge. But I'd much rather have the original one rebuilt if possible. What do you think?

I picked up my rebuilt water pump today. Took 4 weeks. Was sent to A-1 Cardone in Philadelphia to be rebuilt. Cost was $150.00. I was planning on spending $100. So this was much higher than expected. If you find a re manufactured one for less than $100 I would go that route. I know there was shipping to and from for my pump...so that added to the cost. I did not get an itemized cost sheet so not sure how much time was spent working on it. I sent it thru a local garage.

Re: '50 L112 Build

I have the dash rewired and installed. I have to add the throttle and choke cables. Once I add the steering wheel I'll add the clamp on turn signal unit.
Got side tracked with summer activities, so have not posted in awhile

The dash is cream...but looks white in the pics. Looks like I'll have a clean inside and rustic outside truck for awhile till I work on the body parts.

Made new labels for the circuit breakers and terminal strips on the fire wall. I laminated the heavy stock paper to add a little more protection.

Re: '50 L112 Build

Pushed the truck out of the garage so I can give the floor a good scrub down. My Intake/exhaust manifold was leaking...I think the ring spacers were too thick, preventing proper squeeze of gasket. Since the engine shop had installed the manifolds....I removed them and shared my thoughts on the issue and they will modify the ring spacers and verify the flatness of the manifolds.

Looks like you're about a set of manifolds away from going for a ride. Looking great Rich.

L112,
Your truck's looking great. I really like your dash- it looks like new.

Re: '50 L112 Build

I removed the headliner yesterday. I should of did that before installing the dash since I found a mouse nest up there and it made a mess. I have some rust to Prep and coat with por15. The front trim piece is a two piece trim. I'll prep and add a fresh coat of paint. The cardboard liner was drooping and the one edge tore when removing from being dry-rotted.

Not sure if I'll replace with cardboard liner or do something different.

Re: '50 L112 Build

I've seen replacement headliners offered on some of the usual websites like: Southland International, travelallparts.com etc. I think mine came from travelallparts. Could be available on others too.
Although I offered my new headliner to the guy who did the upholstery for my truck, he choose to go with a modern backing material since he was putting fabric on it. But the replacement did serve as a pattern.
L110 owner since 1974, finally rebuilt 2014.
