Re: 1952-L110 Shorty.

We think the L will look good in a 2017 Mustang retina burning Red with Ford argent (silver) running boards, bumpers, dash and interior trim. I think these less flashy five spoke 20 inch wheels with 275/60R20 tires will look good. The color of the wheels will match the argent trim.
The minimum lift to accommodate the 4X4 front DANA 44 axle will, in my opinion, show respect to this once hard working truck.
The wiring will be Ron Francis most likely. We are considering American Auto Wire, also. These two manufacturers components are MADE IN USA and assembled in USA.
After the spirit crushing and time wasting corrosion problem we had with our 1940 Ford, I will never use Painless wiring again.

THE WHEELS FOR SHORTY

I bought the wheels and gave the seller an extra $10 for delivering them.
The wheels are 20 inches diameter by 8 inches. They are in perfect condition, albeit, dusty. I am looking forward to seeing these wheels with 275/60R20 tires on Shorty. This should fill those big awkward "L" fenders.
I have made IH centre caps and I will mill out another set for these wheels. The IH caps take RAM out and add some Binder.

Re: 1952-L110 Shorty.

I spent the best part of two hours detailing these wheels. There was a little brake dust, mostly storage dust and a few dead bugs. I have a little wheel weight sticky to take off with naphtha. The 275/60R20 tires are 33 inches tall, only 6 inches taller than the OEM skinny black round 600/16 tire.
I tried to buy a set of 20 OEM Ram acorn lug nuts from a Craigslist seller but, he is being difficult. So... I can buy the nuts at NAPA and he can take his nuts and ............ lets not go there.
I need to buy storage boxes for the wheels.

I like that the wheels aren't very "busy" looking. I suspect they will look quite nice on your project.

Re: 1952-L110 Shorty.

One of my all time favorite wheels is the early Fuchs 911 wheel. Another favorite wheel is the Cragar SS. Like these wheels because they all have five simple spokes.
The seller delivered these wheels with his Ram 1500 on aftermarket wheels. I lied when I said I liked the replacement wheels. The wheels were all black and too busy with too many geometric shapes and an out of place chrome centre cap.
I didn't ask, but I thought the after market wheels could have been 22 inchs or bigger with rubber band tires. The OEM brakes looked tiny in those big hoops.
I think my wheels will blend nicely with the other matching Argent trim and still make a statement.
My son wants the truck to be very RED. I think these wheels will work with the flashy paint job and help to reduce the brightness.
We are going to try to get the same guy who did our Ford to finish the "L".

Re: 1952-L110 Shorty.

A local Craigslist seller has an American Autowire Highway 22 kit for sale for $210 less than the dealer and no tax. I know there are risks with anything to do with wiring and CL electrical stuff. While I try to be frugal and save a buck here and there, I don't want to be reckless either. I have asked to talk to the seller and possibly meet up somewhere. This kit has been advertised for two months.

Re: 1952-L110 Shorty.

Well, I met with the seller and this was disappointing attempted ripoff. 8 of 22 bundles of wire from the 500695 kit were missing and a bunch of other important parts like switches and connectors. I printed a picture and list of parts that should be in the kit so I would have a reference. NO DEAL

Always sad when something is mid-represented.

Re: 1952-L110 Shorty.

I am way beyond the sad reaction. I was angry inside, after. It is one thing to have a person try to rip-me-off in a text conversation, but to continue with the BS when facing documentation and a picture from the AAW web site, that is the really 'sad" part.
I think this seller may be a drug dealer. He acted the part and had all of the tell-tale signs.
Other clues that I watch for is the changing story. Ask why, how and when the seller came by this whatever thingee. I make notes and if the second story does not match up with the first, I do my best to exit stage left.

The Old Car Centre is an AAW dealer and they are close by. I have spent well over $20,000 there, so another $621 is just another day. Maybe I can get a discount if I buy two. One for Shorty and another for Crewcab.
