Re: Custom tailgate

Great looking tail gate, super straight as well. I also need to replace my tail gate, old one is wrecked. You have certainly opened my eyes. Thanks for sharing. Luke

That's why we share the information. Glad to be able to plant the seeds.

Re: Custom tailgate

Here are a few TGates that I made out of scrap stainless tube and some metal mesh. The INTERNATIONAL is from a box front. The Cummins is going into another IH pickup

Re: Custom tailgate

The bottom picture was first and then I changed it all and the top T'gate was the final. I used rough steel mesh but I noticed that Stainless Steel is available.
The isb Cummins is going into another IHC project. I got the engine, 10 years ago, at an insurance company auction. It was originally driven off a dealers lot and not returned. The engine has less than 2000 kilometers on it. I think the thieves did a little mudding on their way to the chop-shop. The wire harness was not chopped up and the computer is there. It took several years to find the power steering pump, flywheel housing, NVG4500 transmission, NVG241did transfer case and Dana 60's. I suppose I could have had the missing bits and pieces right away, but that costs so much more money. Craigslist, and lots of patience is key. Yes, it runs. Loud and lots of torque.
