My 52 IHC and my 52 Ford 8N get used for what ever needs to be done, Pic seems to post up side down , if you click on it , it goes right side up. I would have thrown the wood in the truck but did not want to scratch the paint

. Great photo! Love your truck. Really nice to use it for chores, too.

I have subscribed to Farmer Tyler Ranch on You Tube. He uses his small Ford tractor in this way, to spread hay for his cows.
I was 8 when Dad got the "R".
I was often sent to town to get some groceries or JD parts. The little town was 7 miles away. That is the way it was in the early 1960s. Farm kids were expected to grow up quickly and help with the chores.
yes. Times have changed, Niki!

I really like your R120 doing real work. It reminds me of my Father's Old IHC. There is a kind of charm in the original look. Some old trucks make me think of old hookers with too much makeup.
One of my neighbours was an older escort. She bought the house in the late 1960s then sold when the rising real-estate took the price of her place over two million dollars. I remember her saying, "I never made this kind of money flat-backing-it.
I have not seen her for several years. She said she was moving into a high rise condo. She wore too much makeup and very strong perfume called Red Door. Her make-up looked like spilled M&Ms. She drove a BMW 320.

The first thing I got to drive was the old KB my grandad used around the farm. When hay was baled (grandpa used a kick baler without a trailer) I was supposed to drive the truck around the field in 1st while my dad and grandad bucked the bales up onto the bed. I remember getting in trouble for running over a bale once.

'48 K-7 swinging a trans and engine in my yard, the engine weighs about 1/3rd of the K-7, about all it can lift at that far out from the truck without counter-weight on the front
To clarify, the truck can lift a lot more, but the front end will come off the ground, it will lift the engine with the 269 idling!

Wow! Really see KB7, especially one with a working hoist. That's awesome! Semis are pretty great too. Love that!

That K-7 is one of the most useful tools I ever bought. Changed engines with a fork truck, and a single line lift makes it so much easier.
Drop the engine in close to where it needs to be, then use ratchet straps to tug it off center to the final position, if you aren't lucky enough to get it right on when you back the truck into position. Strap is easier then trying to position the truck exactly.

I haul firewood and crushed stone, make trips to the lumber yard and go to the landfill sometimes towing a small utility trailer full of brush or trash. Not a big chore but my favorite is using it to go to the farmers market in the summer with the wife on Saturday mornings.

Big Surprise
About 30+ years ago I was invited to stay for supper at a friend's farm in The Fraser Valley, south of Chilliwack. The brother of my friend was late for supper and when he came in, he could hardly contain himself. After supper I went out to my R120 to drive home and the box was full of manure. It was stacked as high as the cab and packed sown. There was a steady drip of "tea" running out from under the tailgate from the heavy rain. The brother sat on the porch and laughed so hard.
On the way home on Highway 1, I passed a parade of touring BMW motorcycles. When it was clear, I pulled back into the right lane, Very suddenly the tour group dropped back another 100 meters. Some of the front runners were waving. I do not think they were saying, "Look at the nice old truck."
I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have
Thinking risks being controversial and possibly being offensive

Enjoying the truck with a loved one is the best type of errand
