Thanks for the fuel tank offer. Very generous and I would take you up on it if I wasn’t 3000miles away.
The dimensions measure really close to my tank. It seems like welding one up from aluminum might be my best bet.

AK, is the spare tire carrier still under the rear of the box?

Only part of the carrier. I suspect there was not enough room after the biggest bumper of all time was welded on.

Some progress has been made on my L110 but not much.
The stock rear end was wasted. Brakes were shot, bearings and all internals just balls rust. The truck loaded on and off the trailer but the rear end locked up once it was parked in my garage. When I drained the differential it was all rusty water. :(
I decided to go with the ford 8.8 out of an exploder. I picked one up for $100. It is disc brake so that will be interesting. After cutting the old leaf spring seats off with a saws all I welded new leaf spring seats on. The Rugged ridge perches were made for 3” tube and the Ford is 3.25 just like the international rear end. A few minutes trimming on the grinder and they fit perfectly. I was able to get a new set of u bolts made locally for $35. Blast prime and painted the mount plates.

You will need a proportioning valve I believe unless you convert to disk on the front.

Some new pickup trucks have a simple winch system for lifting and storing the spare tire. My 2002 Ram 2500 has one of these. I cannot use the wheel winch because I like to install a Chevy Van fuel tank between the frame rails. at the back.

I went the same route with the 8.8. I also upgraded the front to disk brakes and vacuum power brakes, I’m to the point I need to run brake lines.

Looks like your building a new truck. That thing is sooo clean. Did you convert the original front axle and spindles to disc brakes?

I think I will get the external side tire mount because these trucks look so cool with a side mounted spare. I like the fuel tank idea. That looks like an inexpensive solution. I would like to keep the filler in the original location. The first thing my kids noticed was the location of the gas cap for some reason. Probably due to it being at kid level.

Thanks. I will not be converting the front as I have already purchased all new brakes for the front so I will have to look into this proportioning valve.

I did convert the original front spindles to disk. Used the kit from https://www.tsmmfg.net/

It’s a direct fit
