That console is almost exactly what I have in mind for my '52.

Re: 1957 S100 Build

Have not had a lot of time to work on the truck recently with the holidays. I removed the cab and stripped down the front of the chassis. All the of the Fatman front end components have been removed for polish and some powdercoating. I am going sand all the old finish off and box up the front rails. Cab tucked away til the spring.

Re: 1957 S100 Build

Spring is here, more or less, and its time to finish this truck. disassembled the transmission and resealed everything. Got the ebrake band relined. Powder coated all the small components. (I ordered a new cotter pin assortment so please ignore the pins) I am starting to smooth the firewall and shave the drip rails.

Re: 1957 S100 Build

I'm watching your drip rail removal because I've been thinking about doing the same thing. It does give a smoother look. Maybe it will also reduce wind noise on the road? It also appears to make any variation in the door to door frame gap more visible.

You have removed the air deflector panel for the cowl vent. Is this just for clean up and paint, or is this a permanent change?

Dean, just removed it for cleanup. Stripped it to bare metal as well and will shoot with epoxy primer.
The drip rail removal is more for looks than anything. Will give a bunch better transition from roof to door.

Re: 1957 S100 Build

Got quite a bit more accomplished. Painted frame, reinstalled front and rear suspension and brakes. Installed powertrain. Got body temporarily mounted on chassis. Going to be held up for a little bit. Just bought a 95 wrangler for one of my daughters that I am rebuilding so the truck will take second place for a little while.

Nice work! I like it. I'm curious how well the turbo motor will run. I think there is one in my future.
