Anyways, i got the steering column mocked in place, gas pedal, brake pedal/booster......it SHOULD have clearance from the motor as i measured it to be clear. The shorty headers should also allow me to avoid issues with the steering linkage. however, if that is a problem down the road then i guess i will deal with it then. When the transmission arrives in about 5 weeks, i will get the motor/trans in place.

Great progress. I am enjoying and learning from your rebuild. I am west of you in Denton and just got a ranch weary '60 B112 to work on.

looks great. I learned on my last project to get the engine and trans in first before the steering linkage. That DD shaft just seems to get in the way.

Michael, you ever make it over to that salvage yard over there off 35 just north of Denton? I know they had a few 50's IHCs in there based on pictures they had on their website. I am still deciding on what to do with the bed.......maybe if i can find something decent i'd go that route.

That linkage will definitely be going in and coming out a few more times......i really just wanted to get something mocked up for now. My goal was to get all of the holes drilled in the firewall before I go and finish painting it. It'll all get blown apart here again soon.

I like going to that yard north of Denton just to sight see, but I haven't been there in recent years because I was transferred out of state 7 years ago and just moved back home recently. Let me know if you would like me to take pictures -- any excuse to go is a good one!

Looking good we may have the same but I got mine with the hydraulic clutch. ..also it's doubtful you have clearance on the steering linksge...hope you do but you probably will have to go three piece. My column I only have the day shift sticking out, that may be where you run into trouble the top driver corner of Exaust. But looks awesome

i clearanced this inner fenders for the new suspension. While doing this, i realized that i forgot how the radiator mounted....ooops. The i realized it mounted on those two front angled crossmembers that the motor mounts sat on. Thank goodness i saved those. I found them, cut them appropriately and mocked up the inners. My goal is to get them painted here very soon......



.....but then when i saw this, i realized i have just a bit of metal work to do on them first. previously, it looks like the front piece was just cut off with a torch, while whats left seems to be awfully rusty. the passenger side is solid, which gives me a decent template to work with to build a replacement.

new piece in. Need to put some holes in it yet to get it closer to looking like the other side, but it'll work
