The brake lines off the master look like copper or a copper like planting.

Ya, it is a copper nickel brake line. Little easier to bend and flare than steel

Re: Brad's 1954 R Series Build

I used bulk steel brake tube from the big blue parts store. Forming the steel tube was challenging, for sure. Where the steel brake lines failed after 20 years and 225,000 miles was rust thru from the outside. The inside of the tube was clear and clean. I used DOT 5 silicone brake fluid.
DOT5, SBF must be installed with great care so as to not get any air bubbles in the fluid. Easy does it when bleeding from brakes. Aggressive pumping increases the possibility of getting air in the fluid. Never shake the container of any brake fluid. The bubbles that result will contribute to a spongy pedal. SBF appears to retain air bubbles much longer than DOT 4. Contrary to the common bunkhouse BS, DOT5 is not compressible.
This is some extra information for those who have yet to do their brake system.

Re: Brad's 1954 R Series Build

It may not look like much, but i am making progress. Motor/Tranny installed, starter installed, torque converter installed, TV Cable, Throttle, Stabbed/Timed the distributor, mounted battery box, headers wrapped, A/C box installed.

I'll get the radiator/fan/ac condenser mounted next.....and then i guess i will start wiring this thing. all small stuff that just takes time i guess

Looking great! The fatman front end you have, is that stage 2? standard height spindles?

Yes, stage 2 coil overs. I dont recall picking out specific spindles, but kit itself definitely lowers the hec out of the truck

I guess i should have posted a pic of the moc up

Re: Brad's 1954 R Series Build

Well, after dealing with an issue with the lower radiator outlet running into the power steering pully, i think i have that issue solved by re-routing it outwords and down instead of straight out and down.

Also, i got the radiator fan mounted, as well as the A/C condenser mounted.

Progress has been a little slow because i am selling my house and moving......so, between prepping the house for sale and now packing, my next 3-4 weeks is going to be crazy trying to move and then reset up my workshop at the new place. I am only moving about 10 miles, but dang its going to be a ton of work
