Re: K-3 1st build

I did measure quite alot. Results are posted on 1st and second page. One thing that threw me off however is that the back wheel tread width are not the same as the front width on the K3 stock chassis.

The tires do not stick out the fenders. But they are flush.

Re: K-3 1st build

I have been slowly making progress. (I did restore a Farmall MD for an IHC show this summer.)
I repaired the left front fender. I am not real happy with it. I have also installed the steering column, brake pedal and master cylinder, and the gas pedal. I repaired the windshield frame from the doner truck. The original is really rusted out. I went to put the new glass in today but to my surprise both pieces are broken. They have been stored in the cardboard pouch the way they came from the glass shop. Something got dropped on it in my shop. Now I'll have to get 2 more made this week. Attached are some pictures.

Glass should be stored on edge, not laying flat.

I did have it stored on edge. Something fell, or slid on it and hit the edge.

Re: K-3 1st build

I haven't posted for awhile. I have been making progress albeit slowly. We had a crazy year on the farm. It doesn't look much different than the previous picture as most work since was done in or under the truck.
I got new glass in the windshield and rebuilt the wipers. Re-cored the radiator. installed new brake lines to the rear axle. Installed mufflers and exhaust pipes. I still need to mount the pipes properly. Installed new driveshaft. Installed new transmission lines and trans cooler. Pedals and steering column are in.

Re: K-3 1st build

Well it's been awhile. I have been making progress slowly. I got the door latches, window actuators and glass back in, including new felts etc.. The floor and tunnel are welded in. I started it up and drove it around on March 20th, 2022. The truck is smoking because the electric choke is on. I've since put in a manual choke.
