Thanks much for the great information on the serial numbers and part numbers. I will look for the engine serial number on the block above the generator. If I find it I will see if it matches the engine serial number of 154021 stamped on the information plaque under the hood.

Just to throw a monkey wrench into things I have a factory KB-1 with a three on the floor. To be fair it was built in Hamilton Ontario and specs were different for Canadian trucks.

Just to ad a little confusion; my 1949 KB1 chassis number is located stamped on the outside of the frame rail , driver’s
Side, in front of the leaf spring ( towards the front of the truck ). I had to do a little wire brushing and after finding it I filled the numbers in with a silver Sharpie and sprayed with clear coat. This is used as my VIN and gets checked into the vehicle data base during annual inspection .
