My 1949 KB-1

I just wanted to share my build with you all. It turns out the truck was only 7 miles from my house. Here's a few pics of the process.

Beautiful, both before and after - looks like you are going stock, but are you keeping it stock "underneath" too? I dream of finding something that nice in a barn! You are quite lucky. - Bob :t0201:
1954 R-122 long bed - restored as stock as "reasonable"
Honda Z50 K1 - restoration "almost completed"
Honda CT70 K4 - original
(2) Honda US90 K0 (ATC K0) - one restored, one original

Re: My 1949 KB-1

Thanks all, the compliments are appreciated. Yes , I am going as stock as I can, except for paint, as you can see. I hate rust, so everything will get re done. The truck is too nice to go any other way, and I mean no disrespect to those who choose to modify or
rat rod, or customize to their own taste. I am doing my best to detail as someone would have in the day. I wasn't even looking for another project. I went to inspect it for my buddy, but when he backed out, I couldn"t walk away ! A truck that nice doen't come around often, and never to me. I have a '51 chevy Flintstone edition to prove it - that will be my street rod. The tires were flat, we put air in them in the barn and haven't had to since. Out of the hundred or so bolts I took apart only two snapped. Flushed the gas tank and lines, rebuilt the carb, filed the points, a new battery, new freeze plugs, hit the starter and it sat there and idled without a miss. All the gauges work, lights too. It came with a bed full of parts, some I have no idea what for, and I have what I believe is the original jack and handle. Almost better than hittin' the lottery. Never was a particular fan of IH, but the old girl sure has grown on me, and I'm having a good time bringing her back.

Re: My 1949 KB-1

Here is what I have. There is no IH logo. On the body of the jack are the numbers "CAT 1677466 " over "RE 16050-17050" On the top screw gear is stamped "S 122" and the number "15". I believe I am missing the little rectangular piece on top of the post.
