1948 KBS 6

I'm getting pretty close , I think that the motor is going in today . I have to pull the frame in under the cab with the Super A , this could be a day of International proportions . After I get the drive-train in I'll drop the cab down on the frame . A friend talked me into doing it in the barn , I had planned to do it just outside because there are a few things that will take a little time and I didn't want to tie up the space , this actually makes the work more available , I can leave it and come back without thinking about the weather . I need to get the harmonic balancer re-done , I think that there is a place on the west coast that will do it but I have to look them up . Any one have their contact info. handy ?

That's a beauty! Lowering the cab from the ceiling reminds me of the way they did it at the factory on the assembly line.

Wanted to post pictures of these shocks that I'm using , found them on a K 7 dump truck in a junkyard , the rear shocks were mounted upside down so they had little use , the fronts are in good shape .

Had to do a little bit of re-positioning of the bumper to get the pans to line up . I'm going to send the pans , bumper and running boards to get powder coated black, more durable than paint .

Got a lot of the engine set up today , might start it this week if all go's well . Wanted to show how the oil filter is mounted , the engine is a BD 308 , the filter gets in the way of the steering box in its original position . Also wanted to show the holders for the plugwires , I don't know if they are stock , probably so , but I haven't seen any other BD308's so I don't know , I had 1 but needed to make the other , keeps the wires pretty neat .

Great work

? Are they galvanised elbows on the oil lines if they are just be careful they don't crack thru the threads on the male one with the weight/shacking those hoses will do, might pay to put a support down closer to the fittings.
