I started this old truck 15 months ago. I put a Cummins diesel and an Alison transmission with a Tom`s truck frame with all four disc brakes. This will be my plumbing truck when I finish - our plumbing business started in 1946. Will be making a box for the back out of the Tom`s Peanut van. I have all of the parts painted and I am ready to put the truck together but, I have to cut the peanut truck in half and use the back 11 1/2 feet to go on this truck. Will send more pics later - just thought I would post what I have so far since you all have been so helpful with the problems I have been having.

Wow! Very cool!
Where did you get the floor mat? That's a look I haven't seen before. Do you have drivetrain pics? I'd like to see how it all fits. Is it a B series Cummins?

Re: 1949 KB8

Thanks! The mat is a thick checker plate that I actually picked up at the dump - just cut it to fit. I had to move the radiator up 3", front axle up 2" & back axle up 3 feet. The hardest part was making the grill piece fit up against the radiator. Cummins is a 5.9 that came out of the International Freightliner van. I not exactly sure about the Cummins - not much on mechanic work - mainly just build machinery.

Very nice truck. Moving your front wheels ahead 2" will centre it better in the wheel wells, did the same thing on my K1. I can't help but notice that bench seat...it sets pretty high. If you are tall by 19th century standards your comfort level will be reduced. Again that is very ambitious build,,,look forward to more pics

Just about finished with the truck! The picture on the side of the truck is my Dad plumbing in 1949.

I don't know why the picture comes up being upside down - it was right side up when I added it - sorry!
