29sss-POWER TIRE PUMP

Just got in recently and hope I can contribute but for now I need a little help. Finally got to see what one looks like from one of the rebuilt posts, amazing work;only seen part Numbers in parts book any chance dead or alive to get one or how linkage is routed to engage .

Re: 29sss-POWER TIRE PUMP

Most '24 to '29 series had air pump mounted on left side of transmission. Mine are mounted with 4 bolts but I have heard there are also some with 6 mounting bolts but I haven't seen any. The copper line goes to a bulk head fitting on frame by drivers step. There is a hole besides the fitting on frame where the control handle fits to control the pump by engaging the gear in the transmission when in neutral.

Re: 29sss-POWER TIRE PUMP

UPDATE...still seaching pic's,info and pump..its for a 1929 six speed- type O trans...there are no locations on the left side of trans to mount anything...the right has the opening...like I said before going by the pic of the pump from a built post and 4 gambled purchased pumps ;there is no way that style would work unless a spacer/adpt. plate is used ...you can not direct mount pump to trans because it hits bellhousing..will keep trying ..any ideas...

I think the hole you have on the right is for the PTO unit, that's what was on one of my 1926 S-24 model.

Re: 29sss-POWER TIRE PUMP

Still searching for tire pump. I do have the PTO that fits on the rt. hole and was hoping that the tire pump would fit the same hole (a quick switch ) even using the adpter plates from PTO there still no room on bellhouse clearance with the compressors I got. Am I chasing my tail getting a compressor on..maybe while I still have the trucks ..plan B ..switch to earlier trans with the brake band..

My truck is 1926, there's no brake band on it. I have two sets of shoes on the rear.

[yes..thats the type of pump I'm trying to mount ..in fact that was the image used to see what one looked like...purchased about 4 pumps ...the 4 mount bolts vary a little as well as length of assy...having hard time getting pic's in post..with the type O trans there are no openings on left side..just going by pictures in pts/operator repo books..by the way it has the 4 wheel brakes..
