Aftermarket rims for 37 D2

My D2 currently has 15x7 with 3.5 inch backspace on it. Came on he truck when I bought it.

Did the trucks originally have 5x4.5 bolt pattern or was it converted to that when the Ford 9 inch was installed?

Anyone have a source for wheels? I can really only find race wheels and I don't think that's what I want.

Also, what is the correct King Pin for the 1937 D2?

Thank you,

Jay

5x4.5 is the correct pattern.
Stock rims still exist for this, just gotta look for them. I've posted a picture below of what 99% of IHC wheel centers look like.
This is an incredibly popular bolt pattern.
Just my opinion, I think these old trucks look best with "stock" rims. You can update to 1960s 15".
D-2 came from the factory with THREE common wheel options. Wires, steel disc and artillery wheels.
There's an even more rare 20" steel disc wheel out there for D-2.
Nothing fits a stock IHC brake drum/ hub better than a stock IHC wheel. The wheel center fits snug on hub, the wheel misses the tie rod end, the wheel center mates perfectly with the hub.
These stock wheels (the 15" and 16" disc ones) are more plentiful than you think. I think they look great with stock IHC hub caps and maybe beauty rings.

Re: Aftermarket rims for 37 D2

Appreciate all the great info.

I went with US Wheel Series 68 rat rod wheels. Matte black solid steel. I'm really looking forward to seeing them on.

I did look for, and really wanted, artillery wheels but the ones I found were wrong bolt pattern or really expensive.

My favorites are the artillery wheels. I couldn't find original so ended up going with 15" aftermarket artillery wheels. Very happy with them. The bolt pattern is indeed very common. The wheels that were originally on my truck had closer to a 3-1/4" backspace, so that's what I went with on the new ones and they fit very nicely.

I finally found what I wanted.

I love the other photos. Quite the collection. I'm jealous.

Re: Aftermarket rims for 37 D2

For anyone that is interested, I have 2 16 inch artillery wheels for sale. They are in good condition, a bit of pitting but definitely serviceable. They were on the rear of my D-2 when I bought it and 15 inch ones were on the front. I bought additional 15 artillery wheels from a member so I have these left over.- Stickman 207

Old thread warning.

If you still have these message me. I would like to get 2 more 16"ers.
