Got everything settled with DMV. The vin on the title doesn't reflect any of the correct formation from the engine, cab, or frame but it's registered.

Glad to hear it. Going by the engine number is nuts for these old trucks, especially the engine model, since all 1937-1940 D-2's have the HD-213 engine! The frame number is what they should be going by, since actual standardized "VIN" numbers weren't used in the U.S. until 1954. I had a little trouble with my title transfer in WI since the exact same thing happened to me, and the engine had already been swapped out of the truck during an older registration (in Maine!) and never noted.
