Jim G 1920 model K

I am changing my handle from Red460 to Jim_G. I have a 1960 IH tractor model 460 and use the Red460 handle on the YT IHC tractor forum.
I had seen pictures of the old IH slope nose truck and thought they were really neat. I was on Ebay in 2009 and saw a small truck in a container in Missouri. I put in a bid with 2 days till the end of auction thinking surely I will be out bid. I won the truck and had it delivered to Ohio. The truck was a 1920 IH model K that lost its nice dry storage and was set outside in the wet for many years. The spokes on the front wheels actually rotted off. The wheels collapsed when we unloaded it from the haulers truck. I think many of the surviving antique vehicles had some serious problem that side lined them and stopped them from being worn out. I found that my truck’s first gear broken into pieces and was in the bottom of the transmission. The truck was stored but the owner never got around to fixing the transmission. In time the original problem was forgotten. Well, wheels got made, tires found, transmission fixed, body and top got made. Will she win a prize ? nope. But I had a great time and a lot of satisfaction bringing her back to life.
We have great camaraderie here on the OldIHC forum with the old Pre 1930 group. Jim G

Jim, don't count yourself out yet, my restoration on my 1917 F is not factory fresh like Trevors SL34 but I have taken several awards. I don't seem to take it anywhere without everyone crowding around and admiring it. Great job on getting yours back up and running. You did it much quicker than the 20 years it took me. MM

Trevor, I know that you will raise the bar on The H restoration. Its up to you and Bill to get two more ancient Internationals running again. Jim

Jim & Manny

This will be the next one i will be doing looking at starting in about 12 months time, but i am going to try and go an old patina with it and not so "Flash" as MM put it.

Talking about Speedtruckbill have not seen him on the new forum yet will have to send him an email.

Jim

Can you do me a favour and measure up the wheel base on your K and also can you take a picture from the rear showing the springs & hangers.

Starting to look at my next resto and MM has got some bits to send to me.
