ACME Beer Truck

Years ago in Sacramento, CA there existed a company that distributed booze called ACME Beverage Co.
I have what's left of one of their trucks.
The cab and doors have been shot-up but "ACME" is still visible.
In addition, what's left of a huge script "ACME" that was no doubt plated can be seen on the top of the cab.
It's my intention to build this truck (it was a '37 or so D-35) on a '95 Toyota Tacoma frame.
The mechanical portions of the original truck are long gone. I fought the junkers and the junkers won.
I will leave the "ACME" stuff alone or perhaps enhance it.
No restoration here, sorry!

Re: ACME Beer Truck

More pics please..your truck will ride like an old truck on the toyota gear,,,they are rough riding. Only weakness in the 3.0 l toyota engine is the head gasket which I am told can last longer if you run headers on the engine,,that said the head gasket is still good for 100k miles with stock exhaust...Big brakes on the toyota also!

Re: ACME Beer Truck

It's the 4 cylinder/ stick/ 2 WD version. Don't remember displacement.
This will be my fourth Japanese-old truck conversion.
I don't remember any of them being rough riding.??
Some wb alterations will be necessary..the '95 Tacoma is long. 122" wb.
That's long in my world.
More pictures tonight.

Re: ACME Beer Truck

First kiss...cab on Tacoma frame...
Obvious issues are:
I can't move engine/trans back per usual, the R&P is in the way..
Kinda hard to shorten drivesaft(s) when they are smaller diameter shafts on the very ends..
Can't easily adjust ride height..this truck has coil front suspension instead of torsion bar like the other Japanese..
This Tacoma was towed behind a...motorhome? Found connector to plug in lights inside frame horn.
Left frame horn damaged in fender-bender, gotta straighten it out.

Re: ACME Beer Truck

An idea how low a D series IHC cab is on a '95 Toyota Tacoma frame. The Tacoma is stock height, 4 cyl, 2 WD.
About 7" from the ground measured at back of cab.
