1936 IH C-30 Tires?

This may sound ridiculous, but I would be delighted to find six 7x20 tires for this beautiful C-30 truck. I am unsure what her destiny is at this point, but she is about ready to run and I simply want some rubber good enough to drive around the block. New tires and wheels may come later, or perhaps some decent 7x20's...Any thoughts of suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

Thanks, CB!
Since a street rod is not out of the questions, with possibly some new rims and low profile tires, our thought right now is to at least try to find used rubber to just evaluate running and driving issues. I realize that is next to impossible, but who knows.

Re: 1936 IH C-30 Tires?

Just a quick question. Will the tires/tubes you have air up even a bit? If so, what about the temp use of "fix a flat" in the old tubes/tires for some short run "drive ability" testing. NOT on main roads in traffic please. Key is if you have tubes that will hold air for even a little bit. that stuff makes an awful mess on the inside of the rim, but can be cleaned. Your shop will not like you if they have to work on them.
Just a thought if you can not find something to work.

I like that idea, Jim! A couple are beyond help of any kind, but we will give it a try on the others. Have never tried to clean up after fixaflat, but we have have steam cleaning capability and I am always up for dirty work when the time comes. (Some reasonably priced used rubber falling from the sky would be a better option, of course)

Oh, sure, I remember now, you're the kindly fellow from Nampa...and I'm over here in Meridian.

Shhh, do not spread rumors. If someone had any over Washington way(Kent, Wa region) on this Saturday, I could bring them back for you. Taking a 5th wheel that way.

I would look into the rims. They are hard to come by in those narrow 20". If you want to run different rims, you are going to have to change axles. As nice looking as the sheet metal is, I would hope for a restore.

BTW if you just want to roll it around, may be drive it on a lot, you only need 4 tires that hold air, on the rear, remove two tires from the rims and re-install the rims on the hubs, then install the other 2 rims with tires.
