Numbers on my Rear end

Ended up finding to much stuff relating to the rear axle so I posted a new wordpress post, kind of for a historical stand point. In case someone years from now is looking for information. How's the custom color?

You're really going to enjoy the next update. We are hoping for major movement on this project come this Monday. Here's to fingers crossed.

Re: Numbers on my Rear end

The numbers on my ear-end suggest "WIDE LOAD" and "PASS WITH CARE".
I would rather have tools I do not need than to need tools I do not have
Thinking risks being controversial and possibly being offensive

Re: Numbers on my Rear end

Riveted ring gears are (still) quite common in heavy diffs for obvious reasons, rivets make a much better choice than bolts in this application, but does make field repairs more difficult.
One of my heavy truck diffs, has riveted ring gear, can't remember if it is my Rockwell SQHP's or Eaton DS402's. I am leaning toward the Rockwell's.
