D2 Build - JT - lights
Here's a photos of my lighting installation progress. I got the fog lights cheap for $35 at a swap meet without the brackets. I made some cheap custom brackets out of some beam clamps, a 3/4" conduit nipple and a 3" bolt. I had to drill out the beam clamp so the 7/16" x 3" bolt would fit through the smaller 1/4" hole. Had the parts laying around so each fog light probably cost me $20. I will probably drill out a slight recess where the beam clamp lock bolt hits the bumper bracket iron so it has a mechanical position holder, and I will put lock-tite on the threads since there is no way to install a lock washer. This should be fine for the minimal driving it will get, and I will check them occasionally to see how they are doing. Also, I didn't get a correct front bumper but I had the old Ford pickup bumper laying around so I used that. One of my bumper irons is bent and I will have to remove them all to straighten it out, so it's a little askew as it sits now. I will have to drill new mounting bolt holes in it at some point as I only have the middle bolt holding it on temporarily.
